CDI College's Business and Digital Marketing Management diploma program has the job-ready training you need to launch a career in social and digital media.
The field of marketing has evolved considerably in the last decade, moving from largely print-based advertising to the social, digital, and mobile spread we see today. People with hands-on digital marketing training are well-equipped to enter this new and growing field.
In the Business and Digital Marketing Management diploma program at CDI College, you'll gain the knowledge and skills needed to plan, analyze, and execute online marketing campaigns as part of an advanced, business-based digital marketing strategy.
In this program, you'll get a background in business analytics, gaining an understanding of how marketers use digital tools to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns.
One key component of the Business and Digital Marketing Management program is learning how to work with the various social media platforms and tools and how those tools and how marketers and managers can use them to promote and expand the digital reach of their businesses.
The diploma program wraps up with a 100-hour practicum placement, where you'll get an opportunity to use your new business and digital marketing skills in a real-world environment, ensuring you'll be ready to step into a marketing role upon graduation. Instead of a practicum placement, students can undertake a capstone project that will allow them to showcase the skills and experience they developed through the course of the program.

Going to CDI changed my life. CDI College allowed me to get a diploma in my chosen field in under a year and get back into the workforce.
This field placement will prepare students for their transition to the workforce. The practicum will be completed in a business / marketing environment working under the supervision of experienced personnel. Students are provided with a description of duties he/she will perform on the job. At the end of the placement, the practicum host will provide an evaluation on the student and the student will provide the college with an evaluation on the placement.
This course explores the configuration and administration of common Cisco network devices. Students will learn about layered internetwork communication, protocols and standards and how to plan and design Internetwork This course will allow the students to work with the Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS) in a simulated environment. Students will learn to implement and manage Cisco routers and switchesed LANs and WANs
The workplace of the twenty-first century demands excellent communications skills. The focus of this course is on learning writing techniques that ensure effective business communication. Achieve an effective style by using precise verbs, concrete nouns, and vivid adjectives; write memorandums and e-mail messages that deliver information and make requests; write letters and memorandums that request information concisely and promote goodwill; apply skillful writing techniques in refusing requests; compose carefully planned sales letters; write letters of appreciation, congratulation, sympathy, recommendation, and introduction; write effective formal and informal reports; write a formal report including data, using tables, charts, and graphs.
This course presents an introductory look at the Microsoft Office 2016 productivity applications Word, Excel and the Windows environment in which they run. It covers the fundamentals of organizing files and folders, of drafting business documents and of reporting data in spreadsheets. This course relies entirely on practical hands-on activities that allow you to learn the concepts by practicing them on a regular basis and obtaining feedback immediately.
An introduction to the fundamental principles and concepts of business mathematics. Students will be shown how to apply these principles and concepts to solve practical business problems in regards to marketing and finance.
This course is an introduction to the fundamental principles and practices of accounting as a device for reporting business activity. It provides the student with an understanding of the underlying theory and principles of accounting. The construction of financial statements as they evolve from business transactions and records is emphasized using the rules of double-entry bookkeeping. In addition, adjusting journal entries and everyday transactions for both service and retail businesses are recorded coupled with the preparation of basic financial statements. Introduction to Accounting; Financial Statements and Accounting Transactions; Analyzing and Recording Transactions; Adjusting Accounts for Financial Statements; Completing the Accounting Cycle and Classifying Accounts.
Business Essentials provides an overview of business management today, including forms of ownership and the ways managers carry out their basic management functions in a skillful and inventive way.
This course provides a practical introduction to Sage 50 Accounting. Students learn how to set up a computerized accounting environment and record transactions in the General, Payable, and Receivable ledgers by working with a variety of business simulations.
A business plan is critical to a new business venture. Students will assess a proposed business idea, identify business risks and develop strategies designed to maximize the opportunity for a successful venture.

This course provides an overview of the various information systems that are essential parts of business processes in today’s global business landscape.
This course aims to build upon the student’s fundamental knowledge of business in general with a particular focus on management. Students will explore the management skills that are essential in today’s business environments. Students will explore the role of management in areas of planning, organizing, leading and controlling processes.
In this course students will be able to create a search engine-friendly website. Students will be introduced to the website planning process, and discover the web design tools, principles and strategies that will allow them to design create and publish a fully functional web site. Students will become familiar with web hosting principles and integrate social media effectively on their websites.
In this course students will learn the key concepts of digital marketing. The course will explore the importance of branding, audience reach and demographics in the marketing strategies. Students will learn how to utilize analytics and the importance of goals as part of the marketing processes. The course will explore the importance of domain names, keywords and how to leverage Search Engine Optimization strategies. Pay Per Click, Online marketing, email marketing and budgeting are also discussed within the context of this course.
Project management is of paramount importance to all organizations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This course utilizes the popular Microsoft Project application program with realistic case studies and step-by-step guidance.
After completing this course, students will be well-versed in how to use the right social media platform(s) and how to best utilize the features offered by each platform to enable them to help corporations to reach their target audience and achieve their goals. Seven channels are examined in-depth: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Yelp, and Pinterest.
In business, as in other interpersonal contact, the impression formed in the first 10 to 15 seconds is crucial to the success of the relationship. The importance of the customer and of customer relations to business success is examined through case studies and role-playing. Students will learn relevant theories of human behaviour and how they may be applied to improve customer relations.
An introduction to Canadian business law is provided by using the case study approach that leads to a grasp of the key elements. The emphasis is on the application of the law to practical business situations.
This course looks at the planning, preparation, execution, and follow-up stages of an interview: how people find jobs; employer expectations; presenting an enthusiastic attitude; focusing on the right job; transferable skills; the job interview; effective resume preparation; cover and thank you letters; effective telemarketing; tapping the hidden job market; handling objections; job search management; self-confidence and self-esteem building; mock interviews (video-taped); and individual counselling and coaching.
This is the capstone project component of the Business and Digital Marketing Management program, which is the opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills from the classroom portion of the program to practical situations typically encountered in a Business environment. The variety of tasks to perform as part of the capstone project will be aligned to a typical working environment and real-life situations.
