It became the true day of love in the Middle Ages as it was thought birds started their mating season on February 14th.

The first valentine sent was in 15th century by Duke named Charles to his wife in 1415. A one-line poem while he was imprisoned in the London Tower “I am already sick of love, My very gentle Valentine”.

Don’t capture my heart,

For it is fragile and weak

Don’t let it open

For it’s in state of bleak.

My heart ain’t ready

It’s closed at this stage

On the verge of peeking

But stayed in the cage.

I shut off my heart
