Edmonton campuses team up to help raise funds for Kids Help Phone

Edmonton, AB – May 5, 2014 – Students and staff from CDI College’s campuses in Edmonton teamed up for the Walk so Kids Can Talk presented by BMO on May 4, 2014. Team CDI College joined thousands of participants in 25 communities across Canada taking part in the 5K walks to raise funds for Kids Help Phone.

The Walk is the largest fundraising event of the year for Kids Help Phone, raising a significant portion of the revenue needed to keep the 24-hour counselling services available. All of the money raised in the Walk goes toward ensuring Kids Help Phone can continue to provide its service to young people across the country. This year, the Walk also kicked off Mental Health Week in Canada.

“Our staff and students continually strive to make a difference in their communities,” said Larry Heinzlmeir, Vice President of Marketing for CDI College. “Kids Help Phone helps thousands of young people in Canada each year. Our Edmonton City Centre, North, South and West campuses wanted to do their part to ensure kids can continue to use these services whenever they need to.”

The Walk took place on Sunday, May 4th at Rundle Park in Edmonton. Altogether, 25 staff and students from CDI College's Edmonton campuses braved the cold and snowy conditions to take part. The team proudly raised $1,586 and hope to make a bigger impact next year.
