Training provides hands-on practicums in ECE environments

Point-Claire, Quebec - February 10, 2011 - Residents in Quebec now have another option for Early Childhood Education training with CDI College now offering it's ECE diploma program at the CDI campus in Pointe-Claire.

With exciting courses taught from the field's leading instructors in child observation, interpersonal communication, and educational activities for children between the ages of 0 and 12, the Early Childhood Education program provides its students with a competitive advantage over other job applicants.  Students learn how to organize educational and art activities, build relationships with children, encourage autonomy and follow health and safety precautions while on the job. This program also focuses on teaching students how to communicate effectively as well as organizational and time management skills.

Early childhood education is vital to younger generations because it has a multitude of long-term benefits. From improved social skills to developing better studying skills to getting higher grades, ECE helps prepare young children for the academic world. Studies also reveal that children who have some form of early childhood education are less likely to commit crimes and are more likely to pursue higher education.

As the ECE field continues to grow, many different career paths are available. Employment opportunities exist in daycares, preschools, community centres and a variety of other environments.

Prospective students interested in entering this field should have a passion for helping children, enjoy teaching, as well as have the ability to teach children using a wide variety of methods.  Additionally, prospective student need to be effective communicators, as they will have to communicate with children as well as their parents or guardians.  Ultimately, these students have to enjoy working in an independent atmosphere, while acting in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
