Algonquin College has partnered with CDI College in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to offer an innovative approach to post-secondary education in Canada for International students. CDI College will deliver Algonquin College programs at campuses in the Greater Toronto Area. Students who complete an Algonquin College program through CDI College will graduate with an Algonquin College credential. This program delivery model provides the perfect opportunity to leverage Algonquin College’s reputable experiential and theoretical learning while enjoying Canada’s largest metropolitan area.

Orientation Services

CDI College provides an onboarding program for all its new students, including friendly guides, orientation videos and presentations, campus tours, on-call technical support, and a dedicated team of individuals to bring students on board. Live, virtual pre-arrival orientations will be available on campuses for students to ask questions and become acquainted with the process. Once registered, an orientation session for international students will be available to cover success strategies and key information regarding life in Canada. These orientation sessions will be offered at the beginning of every term at designated intervals for all international students.

Academic Calendar Spring 2024

Date Events
March 14 New Students will receive an email with the First Orientation session Online information, date and time.
April 18 Timetables for Winter 2024 are now available from acstudentservices@cdicollege.ca. If you are a new student, you need to have paid your fees according to your application in order to receive your timetable.
April 18 New students will receive an email with the second online orientation dates and times, student handbook, timetables, and Campus address map.
April 25 Second Pre-Arrival Orientation for New Students, Online
May 2 New students will receive their AC-CDI Outlook Email Credentials. With this email, students will have access to MyCampus LMS.
May 6 First day of classes and Day 1 in-person orientation
May 17 Last day to officially withdraw, with a refund, less $1,500 tuition deposit for new students, or a full refund for returning students in a subsequent term.
May 20 Victoria Day (College Closed)
May 27 Balance Due Date, pay your remaining fees to avoid the late fee (for programs that started May 6)
June 4 - July 14 Students to choose General Education and Core Electives for Fall 2024
June 15 Fall tuition deposit is due for all new and returning international students.
June 24 Mid-Term Break Week-  No Classes, College Open
July 1 Canada Day (College Closed)
July 14 Last day to withdraw from Spring courses without academic penalty (an "F").
August 10 Final Exams Week – Final Day of Classes
August 20 Final grades for Spring 2024 available on ACSIS

Health Services and Insurance

As a full-time international student paying international student fees and studying at Algonquin College on a study permit, you are entitled to health insurance coverage. Health Insurance is included in your tuition as a full-time student. Your health insurance provider is guard.me – International Insurance.

Academic Advising and Student Success

The Education Coordinators at the Mississauga and North York campuses will help you plan your educational journey to meet your program requirements and your educational and professional goals. The Education Coordinators allow students to plan, discuss, and review academic progress and address challenges that may impede successful performance.   ​The Education Coordinators provide access to resources to support academic success. When it is time to study or collaborate as a group, we have the space you need. We have created spaces such as a dedicated student lounge and study rooms.

 

Instructional resources are available in the form of office hours. Additional support can be arranged if required. Algonquin College at CDI College support staff are also available to provide options for counselling and wellness programs if necessary.

Academic Accessibility Services

CDI College offers equal learning opportunities for people of all skills and abilities. Academic accommodations for students with disabilities are available as needed to support student success.

 

Students must disclose their disability and complete a Learning Accommodation Request Form. Once reviewed, the student will meet with the Campus Director or designate to discuss accommodation requests, which are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Immigration Support & International Students

Students attend CDI College to advance their education and prepare for career success. International students receive high-quality instruction while experiencing the many benefits of studying in Canada.  CDI College provides access to immigration advising to assist with immigration requirements.

 

Immigration advising provided by Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCIC) includes:

  • Study permit extension applications
  • Co-op or internship work permit applications
  • Replacements or amendments of temporary resident permits
  • RCIC-certified staff are regulated by The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC)
