Vancouver, BC - March 27, 2012 – CDI College, one of Canada's premiere career-training providers, is accepting applications for its Payroll and Income Tax Practitioner program, now available at all six British Columbia campuses. The 17-week program provides a springboard for individuals with office experience and computer knowledge to upgrade their skills or enhance their visibility in the payroll field.
With CDI College’s Payroll and Income Tax Practitioner program, students broaden their accounting skills, as well as learn payroll, human resources and income tax fundamentals. Students emerge with an understanding of accounting theory, principles and practices, payroll objectives, and applicable tax rules and allowable deductions for Canadians.
Graduates of the Payroll and Income Tax Practitioner program will leave with the expertise and certification today’s local and national employers demand. Students will not only receive their Payroll and Income Tax Practitioner diploma, they also fulfill the requirements for the Canadian Payroll Association’s (CPA) payroll certification programs. According to Robert Half's Guide to Certifications, certified payroll professionals may receive starting salaries up to 10% above the market average.
Guided by industry-experience instructors with knowledge of the needs of potential employers, CDI College graduates are prepared for the challenges they will face on the job. For Payroll and Income Tax Practitioner grads, this includes in-demand skills such as preparing financial statements, applying federal and provincial legislation, calculating pay and organizational remittances, and communicating payroll information to various stakeholders.
