CDI College's Dental Assisting Grads Score Higher Than National Average
VANCOUVER, BC – June 8, 2016 – Congratulations to CDI College's Dental Assisting students from the
Burnaby,
Surrey, and
Victoria campuses for not only achieving exceptional passing rates on the most recent round of the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) exams, but also scoring higher than the national average across the board. Graduates from both the Burnaby and Surrey campuses achieved 100 per cent passing rates and students from the Victoria campus received 87 per cent. Students from Burnaby also achieved 16.6 per cent
higher than national passing scores and 6.6 per cent higher than national first time takers while Surrey scored 9.9 per cent above national passing scores and rated on par with national first time examinees. The Victoria campus received 13 per cent and 3 per cent higher respectively.
CDI College’s
Dental Assisting program is one of the most in-demand. In 2015 alone,
the Burnaby, Surrey, and Victoria campuses each had
employment
rates over 92% for new grads. Earning a
median wage of $23/hr*
in B.C., these professionals are responsible for providing support for dentists
during a patient’s cleaning, treatment, or other oral care sessions. Students
can complete the program in less than a
year and graduate with the practical experience needed from practicing on real patients in the on-site labs. Past graduates have also demonstrated their
abilities and success by
repeatedly achieving 100% passing rates on the National Dental Assisting Examination
Board (NDAEB).
Taught
by
experienced industry professionals in
cutting edge facilities, the
Dental Assisting diploma program – the only private Dental Assisting
program in British Columbia to be accredited by the Commission on Dental
Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) – is a comprehensive
hands-on training program
that covers all the fundamentals and essentials of the program. Dental care,
oral pathology, and radiography are only a few of many the topics students
learn about to assist dentists during treatments and perform infection control.
Patient records, practice management and other dental office duties are covered
as well. To ensure our
graduates are equipped with the necessary skills to not
only pass the NDAEB but excel in their new career, students also participate in
practical field placements in a private
practice with a
dentist as well.
Congratulations again to all Dental Assisting graduates!
