Weddings and Cinderella Dreams

Event planners have to be on top of their game when planning glitzy weddings

Richmond, BC - March 19, 2010 - Many brides have been dreaming of their wedding day their entire lives and, for some, to achieve their ultimate wedding, many corners must be cut and decisions made to figure out what is truly feasible within their budget. However, this may not be true for every couple.

When approached by a client whose dreams are as unlimited as their budget, don't forget to take a large notepad and calendar to meetings, because this is the time when things might get confusing. Visions of grandiose chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, a six-tiered cake covered in sugared flowers, white orchids dancing in large glass pillar vases that sit atop organza table runners that match perfectly with the seat covers on the Chiavari chairs. Some clients have high expectations for their wedding planner. Culinary creations from Mr. Wolfgang Puck or Rob Feenie might even make it onto their list of must-haves.

To liken a lavish wedding to a play, assume that there will be many more "actors" taking part in order to make the couples dreams come true. From florists and bakers, to decorators and a skilled lighting design crew, it will take a lot of organization and patience to pull the ultimate glitzy wedding day together.

When planning a large budget wedding, leave time to work out a detailed schedule of events and decide if extra hands will be needed. Lavish weddings are all about the experience, the drama and intrigue that guests will walk away from and never forget.

There may not be a red carpet, but after all the details are in place, the bride and groom will no doubt feel like celebrities, complete with paparazzi!
