Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing animals for testing, treatment, or surgery; preparing or administering medication as prescribed by the veterinarian; tend to wounds and replace bandages; and more. Aside from clinical duties, vet assistants are also responsible for various support tasks such as office billing procedures, record-keeping, appointment scheduling and correspondence.
