The technology sector in British Columbia has shown no sign of slowing down this year. According to a new survey from the British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA), the field expects to create more than 3,000 new jobs in 2012.

Overall, the industry anticipates a five per cent growth in jobs, with the highest demand for software and hardware engineers, customer support staff, sales and marketing staff and technical managers.

"Our industry has added back all of the jobs lost in the downturn and has returned to peak employment levels," BCTIA president Bill Tam told the Victoria Times-Colonist. "We're now ready to set the course for the next decade, driving new records for industry employment and revenues."

The biggest challenge, according to technology council members across the country, is finding the right talent to build a company to its desired size and capability.
