A recent study has shown that employees who stay with the same organization or within the same occupational field are more likely to suffer emotional exhaustion or job burnout, according to The Toronto Star.

The new report, which was compiled by university experts, measured 260 employees' commitment to their companies. The study asked employees if they identified with the goals and values their employers, and whether they felt obligated to continue working there. Researchers found that those who felt trapped in their jobs and saw no alternative were most likely to experience exhaustion and burnout.
