Good2Talk Provides Free Counselling Service for Post-Secondary Students

May 1, 2020 | Ontario

While the post-secondary education experience is fast-paced and ever-changing, it can present challenges for individuals navigating it for the first time, and completely on their own. Now, during COVID-19, there are services available in which students can talk through their concerns and any difficulties they’re currently facing.

In partnership with Kids Help Phone, ConnexOntario, 211 Ontario, and the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health, Good2Talk is a support service for post-secondary students in Ontario. This free, confidential phone line is available 24/7/365 by calling 1-866-925-5454.

Delivered by professional staff, Good2Talk provides professional counselling, information, and referrals. Good2Talk staff are able to support students through a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, academic stress, financial concerns, and much more.

When you call in, may receive a community based referral, or you’ll be connected to a Good2Talk counsellor for single-session counselling or a mental health and addictions specialist for information on resources you can access.

In 2020, Good2Talk partnered with the Crisis Text Line, powered by Kids Help Phone, to provide texting services. When you text GOOD2TALKON to 686868, you’ll be connected with a volunteer Crisis Responder. These Crisis Responders are trained, dedicated volunteers from across Canada who are passionate about helping young people.

Available to all post-secondary students studying in Ontario, Good2Talk is here to help you during your studies. Learn more about this program here.
