New program can be completed in less than a year

Mississagua, ON – June 18, 2013 – With more than a thousand projected job openings in Canada’s social service industry each year, CDI College is proud to introduce its new Child and Youth Services Worker program. The 44-week program is now available at the Mississauga campus and prepares students for positions in a wide range of community and social services centres and agencies, focusing on the care and well-being of the youngest generation.

“Canada’s need for social services, particularly for children and youth, has created a growing job market and an opportunity for people to make a positive change in their community,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College. “This new program gives students all the knowledge and real-world experience they need to begin long-term, fulfilling careers helping children.”

The Child and Youth Services Worker program involves both in-the-classroom study of professional and personal skills and in-the-field experience through an eight-week practicum. Courses such as psychology, case-file management, diversity and social justice give students necessary industry knowledge.

Additionally, courses in professional skills and employment strategies help students develop their resumes and polish their professional skills like interviewing techniques. Graduates are more than ready to successfully take on their job search upon completion of their program.

CDI College is now accepting applications for the Child and Youth Services Worker program at both its Mississauga and Toronto campuses. For more information call 1.877.404.4353 or fill out the form to your right. Find CDI College on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as well.
