The Construction Electrician Foundation program at CDI College provides you with the hands-on training needed for an electrical apprenticeship with companies performing residential electrical work.
Hands-on Construction Electrician Courses
Throughout each electrician course in the program, you will learn with the same materials and tools that Red Seal electricians use on the job.
In addition to math, physics, and the fundamentals of electrical work, you’ll learn about lighting, heating, and alarm systems. You’ll also learn how to interpret sketches, how to test equipment, and how to follow the Canadian Electrical Code in addition to safety regulations and WorkSafeBC protocols.
Electrician Training for Your New Career
Along with the hands-on training you receive on campus, you will also complete a work experience placement to get on-the-job experience.
By the end of the program, you’ll understand the apprentice pathway to certification, and be prepared to write the ITA exam for Level 1. After you complete the Industry Training Authority (ITA) exam, you'll be granted Technical Training: Level 1, and 350 hours of work-based training toward completion of the Construction Electrician apprenticeship program.
This program has been approved by the registrar of the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
