Early Childhood Education Post Basic Info Session

June 7, 2015 | British Columbia

CDI College’s Richmond campus is hosting an info session on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 5-7pm for those who wish to upgrade their Early Childhood Education certificate with an Infant/Toddler or Special Needs Specialization diploma.

Early childhood educators (ECE) have an enormous impact on infants and toddlers, especially those who are developmentally delayed or affected by other disabilities. As an early childhood educator, being able to recognize children affected by these issues and create new developmental plans and activities is a vital skill that requires the correct training and firsthand experience to become successful.

To help ECEs wishing to pursue a specialization diploma, the Richmond campus has invited the Coordinator for the Infant Development Program (IDP) from the Richmond Society for Community Living, Annie Tsay, to speak at our upcoming info session.

One of the first home-based Infant Development Programs (IDP) in British Columbia was started in 1972 by a group of parents whose infants were developmentally delayed. The program has since expanded to reach over 50 communities in the province, assisting approximately 600 infants and their families annually.

Attendees will be able to address any questions they have about the programs to instructors as well as connect with Tsay and find out what is required to pursue this rewarding path.
