Study Reveals That Data Traffic Will Grow Up to 30 Times

June 28, 2012 | Ontario

It's no surprise to IT professionals that the demand for wireless services continues to increase. According to a recent report by Red Mobile Consulting in Toronto, traffic from mobile data is expected to grow up to 30 times in size by the end of 2015.

Because of this major growth, the demand for mobile spectrum will likely grow to almost twice the volume that spectrum carriers hold now.

The popularity of social networks and the advanced capability of smartphones are among the many reasons for this massive development. Thanks to the rapid growth of this sector, it has become the innate responsibility of IT workers to stay on top of growing trends in order to help companies remain ahead of the curve.

And, while it seems like the entire world is connected through their wireless mobile devices, there is still room for growth. By the end of 2015, the study reveals that the number of wireless subscribers will expand from 26 million to 35 million.

Those who want careers in this quickly changing sector can enroll in programs like Network and Database Administrator at CDI College. For more information on the school's IT programs, fill out the form on the right.
