At CDI College, course credits earned at another accredited college or educational institution can be applied towards your program of study. These course credits would allow advanced standing, which is an academic credit applied to a diploma- or certificate-level program.
To have credits from another institution considered, students must show that the previous course completed is equivalent to the course they are looking to receive exemption from. Students must pay a credit transfer assessment fee for each course that prior learning credit is requested for. Prior Learning/Advanced Standing credits can be granted for up to a maximum of 50% of the program. Any courses awarded such credits will have "CR" reflected on the transcript of marks. Credits awarded through advanced standing are not transferable to other learning institutions. Students may have to pay a fee if they do not have a transcript from their prior institution.
Your Credit Transfer Application must be received prior to registration and, if granted, the program fees and length will be adjusted accordingly. Conditions and criteria for advanced standing are available from a CDI College Admissions Representative.
While the Admissions Representative is the person most involved with assessing prospective students, all credit transfer applications will have to be approved by the Campus Director, who has the final authority in approving your college application.
