College gathering inspiring stories through social media about the impact nurses have on Canadians
Edmonton, AB – May 7, 2012 – In honour of National Nurses Week, CDI College is launching a new contest. From May 7-13, 2012, entrants will be asked to submit a story through social media explaining how nurses have made an impact on their lives. The contest is aimed at illustrating all the good that nurses across Canada do on a daily basis.“Nearly everyone has been impacted by the hard work and dedication of a nurse at some point in their lives,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College. “Whether it’s a personal experience, a tale of a friend or family member, or a first-hand story from a nurse themselves, we think National Nurses Week is a perfect time for these stories to be shared.”
Entries will be voted on by CDI College’s Facebook fans, and the top three entries will receive $150, $50 and $25 VISA gift cards respectively. The first prize winner will also have their story shared in CDI College’s summer newsletter.
According to the Government of Canada, there are approximately 75,000 licensed practical nurses working in the country, and that number is sure to grow. As practical nurses continue to be in high demand, CDI College’s Practical Nursing programs provide students with the hands-on skills and knowledge they need to take on the challenges of the job.
CDI College trains healthcare professionals across the country. Practical nursing graduates have gone on to roles in hospitals, clinics, schools, doctor’s offices and other settings, helping to keep Canada’s healthcare system running smoothly.
