Massage Therapy students raise funds for the Kids Kottage Foundation
Edmonton, AB – May 6, 2014 – Massage Therapy program students at CDI College are hosting this year’s Massage-A-Thon to raise funds for the Kids Kottage Foundation. The event takes place at the Edmonton North campus on May 9, 2014.
For a minimum $10 donation, patrons will receive a relaxing 20 minute massage from one of the campus’ Massage Therapy students, alumni or instructors. They can grab a bite to eat at the barbeque, purchase baked goods at the bake sale and bid on items in the silent auction. Items up for bid include a barbeque dinner for eight, a 60-minute massage, gift baskets from CV School of Continuing Massage Education, Spasation Salon and Spa, Stella and Dot as well as a $300 Chefs Table at Earls Tin Palace. A children’s playroom will also be open for the duration of the event.
In 2013, Massage Therapy students raised $7,500 in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. This year, they’d like to do the same for the Kids Kottage Foundation. All proceeds raised by the event will go directly to Kids Kottage to help ensure that children receive the care they deserve when their families are in crisis or in need of respite.
“Our students and alumni requested that we have the Massage-A-Thon again this year,” said Celena Voshall, Massage Therapy instructor at CDI College. “They were so proud they raised $7,500 last year. It was more rewarding than they ever imagined. And it was fun! They’re very excited about raising money for Kids Kottage and are looking forward to the event.”
The Massage-A-Thon will take place at CDI College’s Edmonton North campus on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 9:00am – 7:00pm. For more information about the event, visit wecare.cdicollege.ca, or follow CDI College on Facebook and Twitter.
