CDI College Introduces Four New IT Programs in Ontario

Toronto, ON - October 26, 2011 - More and more Canadians are finding themselves immersed in technology based applications on a daily basis, whether they’re spending time on a computer, mobile phone, tablet device or eBook reader. As a result, it’s no surprise that companies within the technology sector are on the lookout for talented and knowledgeable IT specialists.

CDI College is expanding its offering in Ontario due to high demand for more IT-based programs in the province. Campuses in Ajax, Mississauga, Scarborough and Toronto are now accepting applications for a fall start in the following programs: Network Systems Administrator, Network Systems Engineer, Network and Database Administrator, and Information Systems Support Specialist.

Each IT program focuses on a specific area of computer technology. The curriculum includes both practical, hands-on learning during a practicum placement and theoretical training inside the classroom. Industry experienced instructors guide students towards gaining a solid understanding of computer terminology, operations, design, and configuration, preparing them for life-long careers in the technology sector.

The new programs are available in varying lengths and focus on different aspects of computer support.

• The Network Systems Administrator program prepares students for multiple professional certifications through Cisco, CompTIA, and Microsoft in a 53-week program focused on establishing and maintaining a network environment.
• The Network Systems Engineer program teaches students how to install, configure and upgrade networks in a client environment while also learning Linux, Cisco, Windows Server and SharePoint administration over a 53-week timeline.
• Network and Database Administrator is a 56-week program that covers a wide range of computer management systems and controls. This program prepares students for Microsoft, CompTIA and Cisco certification examinations, which are crucial to gaining recognition as information technology experts in the field.
• The Information Systems Support Specialist program is a 21-week program for students interested in learning about computer support and help desk techniques through the Windows operating system.

With the economy picking up momentum, the technology field is the fastest and largest growing sector across the country. Graduates have a variety of career options to choose from including consulting, start-ups, software development, telecommunications, database research, and more.
