More than $1,000 raised by campus in Laval, Quebec

Laval, QC - February 19, 2010 - When there's a community in need, CDI College steps up to help. With Haiti still in desperate need of foreign aid, CDI College's campus in Laval, Quebec has stepped up and raised more than $1,000 to be donated to the Red Cross.

The fundraising effort put forth by the students in Laval didn't just come from a desire to help a country in ruin, but also to support classmates and CDI College staff. More than 60% of the student body at CDI's Laval campus is Haitian, many of whom still have family in the small Caribbean nation.

"Each student gave what they could; they were generous and happy that the school was involved in a fundraiser," says Talar Boghosjikian, Administrative Assistant at CDI College.

A month after the earthquake hit, Haiti is still battling to tend to the wounded and establish some order in day to day life. Many predict it will be years before the country is anywhere near back to normal. While initial donations were necessary to react immediately to the disaster, delayed donations like those from CDI College will help continue the work being done by volunteer groups like the Red Cross.
