Cisco Canada to Hire 300 IT Employees in 2012

February 21, 2012 | Ontario

In 2012, Cisco Canada plans to hire 300 full-time research and development employees in an effort to expand the company's next-generation technology. The new information services will include internet routing, broadband internet and communications software, according to the online newspaper, Your Ottawa Region.

About 200 of the jobs will be in Ottawa, while the remainder will be in Toronto.

The predicted growth and explosion of Cisco's video conferencing technology is the predominant reason for such a significant expansion. Leaders of the company are seeking individuals with advanced, fresh skills in particular IT markets to serve as support for the growing economy. Last year, the Ontario government signed a memorandum of understanding, committing $25 million to support Cisco's effort to create the 300 jobs in the province. Ultimately, they are looking for candidates with focused knowledge of Cisco training.

Students enrolled in IT and networking training programs at CDI College develop the fundamental skills and knowledge that may give them an edge over the competition.  For more information on Technology programs, fill out the form on the right.
