Are Dental Technicians in Demand? | Dental Technician Program at CDI College

May 16, 2013 | British Columbia

Demand in BC will steadily grow over the next 15 years in BC

Surrey, BC – May 16, 2013 – Like many industries, the dental technician field will soon be in great need of well-trained professionals to fill job openings from retirements and expansion of practice in the province. By 2020, it’s expected that there will be more than 1,000 extra job openings for dental technicians.

In response to this demand, CDI College recently launched the Dental Technician program at its Surrey campus. In less than two years, students will learn to design and create dentures, crowns, bridges, retainers and other dental appliances.

In CDI’s new dental lab, students will study orthodontics, prosthodontics, digital design, manufacturing and more. The comprehensive program is taught by experts in the field who themselves have worked for dental manufacturers, dental labs, hospitals and dental clinics. This enables them to impart real-life experiences and knowledge to students of the Dental Technician program.

Services performed by dental technicians will always be needed. And, with the population growing older, there will be an increased demand for a range of dental devices which improve patients’ nutrition, appearance and overall oral health.

Today, nearly 60% of dental technicians are men, which means there’s ample room in the industry for women to break in. The dental technician field is also a good choice for new immigrants looking to stay within their field of expertise but without spending years in school retraining.

Applications for the Dental Technician program at CDI College in Surrey are now being accepted. Fill out the form to your right to find out how you can get started.
