CDI College Holds Fall Blood Drives Across the Country

November 16, 2011 | Quebec

Proud to participate, students and staff save lives!

Calgary, AB - November 16, 2011 - CDI College staff and students in Calgary City Center and Canadian Blood Services join forces for a fall blood drive on November 16 & 17, 2011. The Canadian Blood services’ Life Bus shuttle service will be on campus to drive participants to the blood donation clinic.

It is now a tradition for CDI College students and staff members to actively support and promote blood donation across Canada through successful volunteer campaigns.

On October 25, 2011, CDI College in Pointe-Claire held a successful blood drive. In total, 29 donations were made and several participants signed up for Héma-Québec’s donor registry that helps those in need of bone marrow transplants.

Héma-Québec, the provincial branch of Canadian Blood Services, provides quantities of safe, optimal blood components and substitutes to meet the needs of all Quebecers. To do so, the organization relies on the active support of the citizens of the province and stages blood drives to help replenish its supply.

As long-term partners of Héma-Québec, CDI College’s staff and students have been involved in several blood drives in recent years. In addition, the campuses seize every opportunity to raise awareness about need for blood products, stem cells and human tissue throughout Quebec.

Thanks to all the students and staff who supported the blood drive with their generous and priceless donations!
