Community Services Worker Program Now in Mississauga

October 7, 2014 | Ontario

Mississauga, ON – October 6, 2014 – CDI College is launching the Community Services Worker program at its Mississauga, Ontario campus. In 33 weeks, students can earn their diploma and begin helping people at community mental health centres, group homes, correctional facilities, family social service agencies, and alcohol and drug treatment facilities.

At CDI College, students will learn more than just the psychology and fundamentals of addiction, mental health, and poverty, they will also acquire knowledge that helps them recognize and take care of sensitive situations. While these helping professionals are dedicated to helping at-risk individuals, they are also at risk of developing secondary traumatic stress themselves, which is why CDI College’s program offers a course that provides hands-on strategies to help lower the chances and prevent burnout.

Community services workers operate in a dynamic field, facing diverse demographics and situations every day. Upon completion of their classroom learning, students must complete a field placement where they will have the chance to put their education to practical use.

CDI College’s Community Services Worker program is perfect for those who are interested in the social welfare of others. For more information, call 1-877-404-4353 or click here to find out more.
