Dental Assisting Info Session at CDI College

December 30, 2013 | British Columbia

Learn about training for a dental career in less than one year

Victoria, BC – December 30, 2013 – CDI College in Victoria will host an Information Session about its new Dental Assisting program on January 7, 2014 from 5:30-6:30pm.

At the Information Session, attendees will learn about the dental assisting field and why Certified Dental Assistants (CDAs) are in demand. They’ll learn about CDI College’s Dental Assisting curriculum and how it prepares graduates for the National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) exam and to enter the field with confidence. They’ll also have the opportunity to tour the campus, check out the brand new dental lab and chat with instructors and staff.

CDAs play crucial roles in the dental field. As key members of a dental office team, they provide support to dentists during patient check-ups, treatments and other procedures. They also carry out important functions in regard to hygiene, infection control, patient records and radiographs. Dentists need their CDAs to be well-trained and versatile in order to ensure their practices run smoothly.

In just 45 weeks, students in the Dental Assisting program study anatomy, physiology, oral facial sciences, pathology, dental radiography and more. They also learn about prevention of disease transmission, preventative dentistry, nutrition and practice management.

Along with time spent in the classroom and lab on campus, Dental Assisting students also gain hands-on experience in two separate practicum placements, working in a private practice with a dentist.
