Co-founded in Vancouver, 99Designs is a freelance job-market service that allows designers to post profiles and portfolios that will help them woo potential clients. The service, which was founded in 2008, is the largest market for graphic designers – boasting a roster of more than 120,000 designers from 192 countries and claiming responsibility for roughly $1.2 million in monthly freelance earnings, according to the Vancouver Sun.

Co-founder and Vancouver native Matt Mickiewicz claims that 99Designs could be a great way to break into this competitive industry.

"If you have the talent and the reputation it definitely can be done," Mickiewicz told the Sun.

In order to build that talent, prospective designers may want to enroll in instructional courses at CDI College. A solid educational base can help these creative professionals develop their talents and make them a more attractive candidate for design job openings.
