Job prospects look bright for future massage therapists

Surrey, BC – June 26, 2014 – CDI College is now offering the Registered Massage Therapy program at its new campus in South Surrey. Starting this summer, prospective students can train to become registered massage therapists (RMTs) in less than two years.

The Registered Massage Therapy program is designed to prepare students for this lucrative and rewarding career path. Training alongside professional RMTs, students will learn through lectures and hands-on demonstrations.

“As more people use massage to help with medical conditions, injuries and overall wellness, the demand for massage therapists will continue to increase,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College. “The Registered Massage Therapy program provides a unique educational experience that will stick with graduates well into their careers.”

Along with massage theory and technique, students in the Registered Massage Therapy program study anatomy, physiology, neurology and pathology. They also learn about clinical assessment, treatment massage, therapeutic exercise, sports treatments, nutrition and hydrotherapy. Business practices, laws and regulations are covered as well.

Graduates of the program will meet the competencies outlined in the College of Massage Therapists of BC Occupational Competency Profile, preparing them to write the CTMBC registration exams, the last step before becoming Registered Massage Therapists.
