Ontario Tech Industry Sees Increased Growth

January 16, 2012 | British Columbia

There has never been a better time to advance your career in technology by enrolling in networking training at CDI College. According to the Windsor Star, the technology industry in Ontario is booming, with many companies seeing continued growth despite wider concerns about the economy and employment market.

The Star reports that more than 100 jobs have been created at nine core technology companies in Windsor over the past two years. These positions are in a variety of sectors, including healthcare, agriculture and the energy industry. Generous tax breaks for small- to mid-sized businesses are another reason for the area's continued growth in the technology sector.

"[Business tax rebates are] a main factor why we're willing to bring people in because of that incentive," Kevin Gervais, president of technology company Spry Agency Inc., told the Star. "Basically it pays for us to innovate - the more we innovate the more we get back."

The outlook is bright for students enrolled in networking training at CDI College in other provinces. According to the Vancouver Sun, more than half of the fastest-growing companies in Alberta are in the information technology sector. The computing and tech industry in the province currently generates annual revenues of more than $10.5 billion.
