Our Richmond campus is located in the fourth largest city in the province. Built on islands in the delta of the mighty Fraser River, Richmond offers all of the amenities found in major urban centers: excellent shopping, superb entertainment facilities, accessible transit, and world-class dining.

Richmond is also home to many vibrant parks, gardens, and walking trails set amongst its cityscape. The Richmond Oval, which was home to the 2010 Winter Olympics speed skating events, can be found just minutes away from the CDI College's Richmond campus.

Students will find that the Richmond campus is located close to the best that the city has to offer. After classes, students will be able to browse the shops at nearby Lansdowne Centre or grab a bite to eat at many nearby restaurants. In addition, Richmond is home to a number of recreation facilities and several sports teams and clubs ranging from hockey and speed skating to swimming and rowing.

About Richmond

Things to do in Richmond

British Columbia's fourth largest city is located approximately 20 minutes south of Vancouver on the mouth of the Fraser River. With its rich multicultural heritage, ample recreational activities, and numerous places for shopping and dining, the city of Richmond is a great place to live and study in.

Explore BC's maritime past in historic Steveston. Check out the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, a century-old waterfront facility that now serves as a museum that details the importance of the region to the province's history. Visit the Britannia Heritage Shipyard with its displays of restored heritage boats, bunkhouses, and homes to glimpse into what life was like during the early 1900s. Take in Finn Slough, an area along the Fraser River where early Finnish settlers built their houses on stilts.

Visit the Japanese-Canadian Cultural Centre for Japanese language and arts courses or tour the numerous temples that cover a range of faiths from around the world including the spectacular International Buddhist Temple on the Steveston Highway. Learn more about Richmond's culture and history at the Richmond Cultural Centre in Minoru Park to check out the city museum, archives, art gallery, and public library.

Richmond offers many opportunities for recreation and the city has 10 large parks with a lot of green space. Cyclists, joggers, and tennis enthusiasts will enjoy Minoru Park in the heart of Richmond while birdwatching fans will love the estuary at Terra Nova Park. Other nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts can check out deer and hummingbirds at Richmond Nature Park.

Those looking for some exquisite Asian cuisine will definitely find it in Richmond. The city is home to over 400 Asian restaurants and the choices are almost limitless when it comes to the types of dishes too. Richmond has some of the best Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Vietnamese,  and Thai restaurants in the Greater Vancouver region.

Richmond is an excellent place to shop and there are several shopping centres. The Lansdowne Centre and Richmond Centre have several department stores, clothing shops, and electronic retailers. Other popular malls include Aberdeen Centre, Parker Place, and Yaohan Centre.

Those looking for a bargain should check out the Richmond Night Market. The ever-popular annual Night Market draws thousands of visitors from around the Greater Vancouver area each year. Featuring outdoor vendors, several tasty food kiosks, and musical and dance performances, the market runs from May to October.

Richmond residents don't have to travel far to get a taste of Las Vegas style glitz and glam either. The River Rock Casino Resort is home to poker tournaments and over 900 slot machines. The resort also offers fine dining and a showroom theatre that has hosted numerous big name acts.
