CDI College Launches iPad Classroom Initiative
As technology advances and wireless tablets become an essential part of today’s professional communication, students must develop these skills to stay ahead of the curve. To ensure your technology skills are up-to-date, CDI College is introducing iPads and eTextbooks for new students, creating an enhanced learning experience.
Business students will develop cutting-edge communication skills needed for on the job tasks. Today, many business professionals use iPads to read and edit documents, draft and respond to emails, as well as stay informed of relevant industry news.
As the healthcare industry goes mobile, students will learn the appropriate skills that help position them as a forward-thinking to employers. With most healthcare systems, hospitals, medical offices, and clinics using iPad technology to stay connected, students will learn how to organize files, use different mobile medical applications, as well as communicate with others on their teams.
Regardless of the course of study, students at CDI College will benefit by using iPad technology.

Best Educational iPad Apps
Students need to stay on top of the latest trends in technology, no matter what career path they choose to follow. Here are a few iPad apps that are helping students enhance their learning experience.
Dictionary.com
No matter what you’re studying, you should have the Dictionary.com app. Not only is it free, it also has a thesaurus function and is simple to use. No more spelling mistakes!
Sugar Sync
To prevent losing important files, students should have a cloud storage app. Sugar Sync allows you to store documents, files, photos, videos, and presentations securely.
Paperdesk
Leave the paper and pen behind! Designed for the iPad, this app replaces the notebook by allowing you to take notes and write by hand.

Blood Drive Tradition Carries On
For three years running, CDI College has teamed up with the Canadian Blood Services to raise awareness for blood donation.
This year, campuses in Edmonton City Centre, Winnipeg, Pointe-Claire, Laval, Calgary City Centre and Edmonton South held blood drives and awareness campaigns throughout the summer.
The tradition of blood drives at CDI College started in Winnipeg to support CDI student, Chantelle Chornoby, who was battling cancer. Although Chantelle lost her fight with the disease, CDI has continued to stand behind the cause, helping others like Chantelle in their time of need.
Thanks to everyone who participated in CDI College Blood Drives, Canadian Blood Services was able to save even more lives! Check out photos of the event on Facebook.

CDI College Charity Pizza Challenge
Staff and faculty from the Edmonton City Centre campus took to the streets on September 30, 2011 to raise money for a good cause – five good causes to be exact. At the end of the day, the five teams had raised more than $10,000 for their charities of choice.
Teams of five headed out during the lunch-hour rush in downtown Edmonton to hock pizza donated from Papa John’s to see who could raise the most money for their charity.
Creativity and a little help from social media had the teams racing to see which of their charities would collect the most money, and the most buzz.
Team Rooftoppers ended up raising the most money, donating $3,774.32 to Habitat for Humanity. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work and contributions to the community!

New Campuses in Ontario and BC
Fall is a great time to head back to school and, this year, CDI College is offering more opportunities for students to reach their career potential. Two new campuses are now open in Mississauga and Scarborough, in the Greater Toronto area, and a sixth campus in BC has been added in Victoria.
As Canada’s economy continues to rebound, communities across the country are seeing a major increase in full-time job openings. The new campuses in both Ontario and BC offer students further opportunity to find the right fit in the local job market. Each new campus location will work with industry leaders in their communities to ensure that students learn what’s relevant.
Programs at the new campuses include Accounting and Payroll, Medical Office Assistant, Network Administration, Pharmacy Assistant and more. All three new locations are accepting applications now.
