CDI College explores training options at National Open House on February 21, 2013

Vancouver, BC – February 8, 2013 – With the unemployment rate sitting at 7.2 per cent, and youth unemployment nearly double that, job seekers continue to face a competitive job market across Canada. The right credentials can make all the difference on a resume, so CDI College is hosting a National Open House on Thursday, February 21, 2013.

With 25 campuses across the country, the Open House will provide prospective students with a chance to learn about CDI College’s track record of helping Canadians find employment and their range of available programs. The Open House will also address the benefits of training for a new career in business, technology, healthcare, legal studies, art and design or early childhood education.

“CDI College has earned a reputation for training students to develop the skill set and knowledge base needed to be successful on the job,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College. “As employment is the ideal outcome for our students, the Open House will allow them to explore how they can train for a new career and what resources are available to them on campus to help them succeed in the job market.”

At the Open House, everyone from recent high school graduates to midlife career changers will have an opportunity to learn how CDI College’s hands-on training programs will help them acquire the skills needed for their chosen career field. They’ll have a chance to meet with instructors, sit in on in-depth information sessions about the college’s programs and learn how CDI’s curriculum is developed based on input from industry advisors. They’ll also hear about potential employment opportunities in their cities.

CDI College students and grads also have another leg up on the competition. They have access to CDI’s career services department, which allows them to view job postings, review their resumes and get help preparing for job interviews. They also have access to Optimal Resume, an online resume and job application service that help users create professional-looking resumes, cover letters, video introductions and personalized websites to market themselves to potential employers. Optimal Resume is available to alumni after graduation, as well.

CDI College’s Open House takes place at campuses in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. In British Columbia, the event runs from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Call 1.877.404.4353 to RSVP.
