Following the completion of this course, students will be able to: describe business communications in today’s workplace; communicate in teams using listening, nonverbal and meeting skills; plan, write and review various types of business messages; communicate effectively using memos, email, letters and instant messages; create business reports and proposals; plan, write and deliver oral presentations.
MSPX - Microsoft PowerPoint
This course covers Microsoft PowerPoint. This course will present the Microsoft PowerPoint application interface, tools and features. You will learn about the fundamentals of preparing professional quality presentations. You will learn to create presentations, create and edit slides, add and format text, graphics and other types of content to slides. You will then learn to add effects, and transitions to enhance the appearance of your slideshows.
MSAX - Microsoft Access
This course covers Microsoft Access. This course will present the Microsoft Access application interface, tools and features. You will learn about the fundamentals of a database management system and working with data. You will learn to create and modify databases, add database tables as well as populate the tables with appropriate data. You will learn to create and use relationships between tables and query tables to extract data based on criteria. In addition, you will learn the work with advanced features of the database management system such as creating forms, using controls and producing reports.
MSEX - Microsoft Excel
This course covers Microsoft Excel. This course will present the Microsoft Excel application interface, tools and features. You will learn about the fundamentals of spreadsheets, working with data, formatting cells, working with ranges of data and cells as well as applying functions and formulas to manipulate the data in the rows and columns of a spreadsheet. In addition, you will learn how to present tabular data in a variety of different chart formats.
MSWX - Microsoft Word
This course covers Microsoft Word. You will learn about the fundamentals of word processing, document, and paragraph and character formatting, working with templates, lists and tables. This course will provide you hands-on practical activities that allow you to learn the concepts by practicing them on a regular basis.
MOTX - Microsoft Outlook
This course presents the MS Outlook application interface, tools, and features. You will learn about the fundamentals of an e-mail application, scheduling, calendars, contact lists, creating, forwarding and managing messages. This course relies heavily upon hands-on practical activities that allow you to learn concepts by practicing them on a regular basis.
