CDI College Instructor Raises Awareness for Cancer on Behalf of Sister

November 3, 2014 | Quebec

Anjou, QC – November 3, 2014 – Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer amongst Canadians with prostate cancer as a close third. Each affecting over 23,000 a year, both cancers have an average 5-year survival rate with a 14 and 10 per cent mortality rate amongst all reported cases for breast and prostate cancer respectively.

On November 15, 2014, Early Childhood Education instructor from CDI College’s Anjou campus, Line Angrignon, and her friend Daniel Beaulieu will be joining efforts to raise awareness for the causes. As a tribute to her sister who is currently battling breast cancer, Angrignon will be getting a tattoo with both cancer logos. Attendees to the fundraising event can watch it happen live on from 12 – 4pm on November 15 at 7400 Boulevard des Galeries d’Anjou, Unit 130. Face painting activities for kids will also be available. The campus will be accepting donations for men’s and women’s undergarments, which will be displayed on clotheslines.

All clothing and other contributions will be donated to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation and PROCURE as well as abused women’s and homeless shelters.

For more information on the event, watch Angrignon’s video or visit Beaulieu’s Facebook page.
