Medical office, addictions and healthcare aide careers in the spotlight

Winnipeg, MB – March 10, 2014 – Healthcare is a growing sector with a wide range of career opportunities for anyone with the right credentials, including the areas of medical office administrators, addictions and community services workers and healthcare aides. CDI College is shining the spotlight on these growing career fields with a series of Open House events at its campus in Winnipeg.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2014, the campus will hold an Open House for its Medical Office Administrator program. Attendees will learn how the program helps students hone the skill set they need for a range of medical office jobs, including admitting clerk, medical secretary, medical office assistant, transcriptionist and more. The session runs from 5:30-6:30pm.

Addictions and community service workers play a crucial role in the lives of those living with substance abuse, mental health issues and other challenges. Learn more about the skills and knowledge needed to be effective in these careers at the Addictions and Community Services Worker Open House on Thursday, March 13, 2014. The hour-long session starts promptly at 5:30pm.

As Manitoba’s population ages, there’s a greater demand for well-trained healthcare aides in the province. The Health Care Aide Open House on Monday, March 17, 2014 will examine how students train to become one of the cornerstones of the healthcare system in just six months. The event takes place from 5:30-6:30pm.

Along with learning about the programs, guests will have a chance to hear from instructors and staff, as well as find out about the range of career opportunities available to graduates in these fields.
