CDI College Offers Dental Assisting Program in Alberta

Calgary & Edmonton, AB – October 23, 2014 – Enroll in CDI College’s Dental Assisting program to become an oral healthcare professional.

Two of CDI College’s Alberta campuses, Edmonton City Centre and Calgary City Centre, are now offering the Dental Assisting program. Currently accepting applications, the diploma program can be completed in less than a year.

Students enrolled in the diploma program will be equipped with essential safety and immediate care techniques in case of medical emergencies. First Aid, CPR, and WHIMIS are a few examples of topics that will be covered. Students will also learn the fundamentals of dentistry as well as oral facial science, oral pathology, pharmacology, prevention of disease transmission, dental radiography, and more. Along with in-class learning, Dental Assisting students will practice their techniques in the lab as well as participate in two mandatory practica where they can utilize their skills in real work placements to gain experience.

“Hands-on and practical training is better because it prepares you for situations that arise in which no traditional textbook methods can,” said Nikki N., an Intra Oral Dental Assisting graduate. “CDI gave me the opportunity and confidence to pursue a career that I really enjoy.”

Graduates from CDI College’s 45-week Dental Assisting diploma program are eligible to apply to sit the written National Dental Assisting Examination Board (NDAEB) Certification Exam. Since its implementation in 2007, the passing rate for CDI College’s graduates is between 97%-100%.
