Alumni, business and industry, parents, and student counselors are all part of the CDI's extensive academic community.
Businesses and industry, in particular, help support our educational goals and provide guidance for our students. Business representatives serve as consultants and give valuable input into our various programs. They serve as practicum hosts when our students go into the field to gain hands-on experience on the job. And, most importantly, they hire our grads - sometimes even before a student has finished the practicum component.
Involving parents in the CDI community helps to build more than just a place to study, it creates a sense of family for those away from home. It also allows parents to catch a glimpse of their children's new academic lives.
Student counsellors are always happy to share their wisdom and offer a friendly ear to their fellow classmates. Counsellors will be able to offer first-hand knowledge of campus life, making the transition easier for new students.
Career Services
For Graduates:
At CDI College we take your future seriously. Each diploma and certificate program offered at CDI is complemented with career services assistance. CDI Employment Specialists are available for career advice and counselling in addition to assisting with job searching for up to six months after you graduate.
CDI Employment Specialists offer Career and Employment Strategies Workshops that will build your confidence in finding the hidden job market. Students attending these workshops will learn how to turn a phone call into an interview and an interview into a job offer.
Additionally, employment specialists teach students how to create personal marketing tools for themselves. The development of dynamic resumes, creative business cards, effective thank you notes, and powerful cover letters are all key focus areas of Career Services.
By attending scheduled individual and group sessions at Career Services, you will be able to share your job seeking experiences with your peers and gain advice from others. CDI Employment Specialists are here to help encourage and guide you to reach your career goals and keep you motivated about your future.
